Morning Mist


When the morning mist had rolled away
It was then I understood that meaning
Of the dawning of a new day

And if there were any words I could use or say
They would be, the almighty God Jehovah
Through Jesus Christ it was who caused this day

And when to my mind, clouds of loneliness
Left me alone and blind
It was my heart that searched hard and long and prayed
When the morning mist had rolled away

And as I looked around my feet
Tears from that dark night
Like pearls of pure dew
On sweet grass were lain

When the morning mist had rolled away
I did see the dawning of a new day
