Poems

Autumn Shadows

Autumn leaves how they blow then fall
Like words we spoke in yellow and gold
All those soft and trodden leaves
Now moistened by November’s mist

Colours mix with birds and love songs
As pain has caught our hearts again
Go blow away you scattered memories
And bury deep beneath a winters fleece

But how can we forget all the good times
When we kissed forever as time stood still
And problems seemed to be forgotten
Within our world of hope, love and peace

But now they lie in abstract patterns
Woven together in a patchwork quilt
Drifting round, creating moods of silence
While catching clear pearls of dewdrops spilt

Listen to the sound of rustling echoes
Within our mind, beneath our feet
As somewhere touching and interwoven
Once again our lips will meet

Bringing back moments embraced and dancing
Changing seasons within our hearts
Creating the warmth of understanding
While letting the swirling leaves of love remain
